Go Tango works to preserve and grow the legacy of Argentine Tango. We see Tango as a vibrant and multicultural art form that reflects resilience and community. UNESCO recognizes Argentine Tango as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. Because of this, we focus on honoring its history and sharing it with new audiences.
We use performance and education to highlight Tango’s roots and its ongoing story. These roots include African, immigrant, queer, and working-class traditions. Tango has survived many social and political changes, and it continues to thrive as both a social dance and a performing art. Go Tango shares this heritage so more people can experience and understand it.
